Meet Our Optometric in Gilbert


Dr. Hostetler received his Bachelor of Science degree from Arizona State University and his OD degree from Southern California College of Optometry. He is a graduate of the Gilbert Chamber of Commerce Leadership Development Program. Having been widely recognized for his dedication to vision care, Dr. Hostetler is the recipient of both the national and regional 2004 "People First Award" from Vision Service Plan (VSP) and he was nominated twice for the "Optometrist of the Year" award by the Arizona Optometric Association and won both times. He is very active in his community, participating on citizen committees with the Town of Gilbert, Gilbert Public Schools and the Gilbert Chamber of Commerce. He has also been an active member of the Gilbert High School Booster Club, Boy Scouts of America, Lions International and several youth sports organizations. Dr. Hostetler is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Arizona Optometric Association, the latter of which is a registered lobbyist. Dr. Hostetler and his wife have 2 children and when he is not working, he enjoys outdoor activities such as golf, hiking and camping.

Dr. Wold has been an Arizona resident since 1979. In 1992, he graduated from Mountain View High School in Mesa. After a 2 year church mission in Romania, Dr. Wold received his Bachelor of Science degree from Arizona State University in Tempe Arizona in 1999. In 2003, he graduated magna cum laude from the University of Houston College of Optometry in Houston Texas. He completed his externship rotations at Barnet Dulaney Perkins Eye Center in Mesa, AZ and the Indian Health Hospital in Phoenix, AZ. Dr. Wold is actively involved in his church and enjoys serving whenever and wherever he’s asked. Dr. Wold is a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA) and the Arizona Optometric Association (AZOA). He served on the board of directors for the AZOA for many years and completed his term as president in the spring of 2020. He currently serves as the legislative co-chair for the AZOA. Dr. Wold also currently serves on the board of directors for the Arizona Optometric Charitable Foundation (AZOCF). Dr. Wold married Emily Taylor in 1996 and they have five children: Allison, Adam, Nathan, Ryan and Katie. In his spare time, he enjoys live music events, traveling, hiking, cycling and spending time with his family and friends.

Dr. George Paul, OD is a residency trained, comprehensive optometrist who provides primary eye care. He obtained his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico in 2015 and attended St. John's University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Biology. He was an ophthalmic technician and completed a post baccalaureate pre-optometry program from SUNY Purchase prior to optometry school.
Dr. Paul completed an ocular disease focused residency program at Omni Eye Services in conjunction with Salus University Pennsylvania College of Optometry. The program provided advanced training in the co-management of cataracts, glaucoma, refractive surgery and anterior/posterior eye disease. In addition, Dr. Paul is part of the American Optometric Association as well as the American Academy of Optometry.
Dr. Paul is originally from New York and has recently moved to Phoenix with his wife. He is eager to get to know his patients and work with them closely. Outside of practicing optometry, Dr. Paul enjoys road biking, cars, basketball, and hiking.
